When Luck Turns

Some songs are written for the good weeks. This one is written for the other kind — the stretch where the work dries up, the mailbox turns mean, and a man counts what he has left by feel in the dark. "When Luck Turns" sits low and mid-tempo, a warm baritone laid over slow guitar and a beat that walks instead of runs. It is broke but breathing. It is the sound of holding your ground on a floor that used to feel like more.

The story is plain. A working man watches the season go cold on him — the phone quiet, the road gone longer, the light in the window burning through another night of doing the math. He does not pretend it is fine. He names it. And then he does the only thing left worth doing: he stays standing. There is grief in it, and there is grit, and the two never cancel out. They just keep company.

Luck can turn, but a man decides who he stays.

This one is for anyone who has been down to the last of it and gotten up anyway — the ones who kept their word when it cost them, who lost the ground but never the man standing on it. It carries the whole record's spine: a man can lose his place without losing it. Play it on the hard nights. Let it walk with you.
